Commission to make a DVD for Fabrica's Artists' Resource.
The installation was a reaction to some 1950's slides that Angela discovered in a market. She studied the personalities in the pictures and created a visual story of their lives as a setting for the bands to play in.
Working with 16-18 year olds resident in Brighton, the aim of the five-day installation was to increase the young peoples' awareness of the creative process on the theme of 'Shelter', linking with the Andy Ray exhibition then on in the gallery. Andy was the workshop leader and Angela documented the project through drawings, photographs, writing a day-to-day diary, interviewing the participants and the artists and compiling questionnaires. She also evaluated the programme, which was published in Engage 09, Summer 2001.
